The Roan Antelope River Valley Resort at Kallar, near Ponmudi, is the ideal little getaway for those tired of the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Situated on the edge of the reserve forest, the serenity of nature is overwhelmingly soothing.

We have 6 twin sharing spacious hexagonal rooms providing views of the nearby Kallar River and the neighbouring reserve forest.

Each room has a personal balcony area for relaxing during the day.

For those who are a little more adventurous, a 1.5 km trek into the forest (always accompanied by guides) is rewarded by the lovely Meenmutty waterfall. If having a waterfall all to yourself is a luxury, you shall stay in luxury throughout your stay.

The Kallar River that flows right in front of the resort has large boulders that are ideal for sunbathing and the river is so clear that you can always see the river bed. It is safe for children to play in, making this an ideal holiday destination for families too.

The little stream and sunbathing area behind the building provide a secluded retreat for the guests who value their privacy and love to take in the rays.

The tourist season, between September and March, has cool sunny days and colder nights. The off season for tourists, which is summer in Kerala, is also an ideal time to holiday here as the days are nice and sunny, beautiful weather to splash in the water and laze in the sun. Even better are the cool nights which making the stay enjoyable. The monsoon season, from June to August, brings torrential rains and swimming is not allowed then, even though the resort will still cater to guests.

The surrounding hill ranges provide a spectacular view during your drive up to Roan Antelope. The green beauty of Kerala is a spectacular experience and we would like to make it even more special by providing our traditional hospitality.

When you arrive in Trivandrum, ideally ask us for a pick-up, we’ll only charge Govt. rate taxi fares (Rs.1200 from Trivandrum airport). If you require a pick-up from elsewhere we can provide that too.
