The Kettuvallam Company and Sea Pearl Chalets gladly announce the introduction of the ‘Kettuvallam’ (traditional rice barges converted to houseboats) for the first time in the Varkala Backwaters.

We have One, Two and Three bedroom houseboats for overnight stay. We also cater to those that just want a day cruise in a houseboat.

Service is our speciality as we have experience in running Sea Pearl Chalets for the past 12yrs. The Boat will be manned by three staff, the Captain, the chef and housekeeping personnel.

The rooms are fully furnished with antique hard wood furniture. The walls, floors and ceilings are also made of hard wood and give the room old world rich elegance yet with modern comforts.

The well appointed rooms are fully air conditioned. Every room has an ensuite bathroom with all facilities.

Freshly made mouth watering Keralite food will be served throughout the trip. Lots of seafood is served on board so if there is any allergy or dislike please let us know.

Ours are the first and only house boats in these back waters, so you will have total privacy and relaxation! Definitely worth a try!
